I am running Windows 10 64 bit on my Lenovo Z400 and the registry edit below worked for me. Then one day while using the laptop I went to adjust the brightness and when I pressed the button to lower the brightness a little, the screen went down to the lowest brightness and I could not. However, it is not brightness problem, but keyboard buttons problem.
After wake up, you can control brightness via f11 (less bright) and f12 (more bright).
